DS Automobiles, a Stellantis brand, has revealed its new flagship model, the DS N°8. This SUV coupé marks the brand's first vehicle to be launched exclusively with an electric powertrain. The name N°8 is styled to reflect the French way of writing "number" and subtly nods to iconic Chanel fragrances. While it doesn’t match the sleekness of the SM Tribute concept revealed earlier this year, the bold and commanding EV draws clear inspiration from it, showcasing a two-tone design and refined detailing. In terms of exterior design, the DS N°8 takes inspiration from the DS Aero Sport Lounge concept revealed in 2020, prioritizing aerodynamics. Its sleek roofline and finely sculpted bodywork help achieve an impressive drag coefficient of 0.24 cd, improving both efficiency and driving range. At the front, the highlight is the fully covered grille with an illuminated backdrop and a prominent DS emblem. Slim DS Pixel Vision headlights pair with sharp DRLs that extend toward the bumper, giving off a Peugeot-like feel. This design is mirrored by the taillights, establishing a fresh lighting signature for the brand. The steeply raked C-pillars flow seamlessly into an integrated rear spoiler, adding to the car’s dynamic look. The extended duo-tone finish, with a deep black upper section, contrasts elegantly with the subtle plastic cladding along the lower body. Other standout details include the 21-inch forged wheels on the high-spec version, flush door handles, and the N°8 emblem adorning the tailgate. In terms of interior, the DS N°8 delivers a premium aesthetic that aligns with DS Automobiles' upscale positioning within the Stellantis portfolio. It features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster behind a four-spoke steering wheel, complemented by a 16-inch infotainment touchscreen in the center of the dashboard and an augmented-reality head-up display. The “double-decker floating center console,” adorned with star-inspired backlit graphics and crystal-like switches, feels like it’s been lifted straight from a concept car. Ambient lighting highlights the dashboard inserts, which flow seamlessly into the door panels. These panels also integrate some of the 14 speakers from the Electra 3D audio system by Focal, elegantly placed within perforated aluminum trim. In terms of technology, the DS N°8 is equipped with cutting-edge features designed to enhance comfort, safety, and convenience. The camera-controlled active suspension system adapts to road conditions in real time, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride. An augmented reality head-up display projects essential information directly onto the windscreen, while an infrared camera system detects pedestrians and animals in low-light conditions for added safety. The intelligent headlights automatically adjust to driving conditions, preventing glare for oncoming drivers. Additionally, the DS N°8 includes a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), offering features such as lane-keeping assist, auto-parking, lane change assist, and more. The DS N°8 is built on the STLA Medium platform. in terms of powertrain, N°8 offers front-wheel-drive configurations with single motors producing either 227 hp or 242 hp, complemented by a temporary 30 hp boost. The all-wheel-drive variant combines dual motors to deliver 345 hp, or up to 370 hp with boost, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. All models are electronically limited to a top speed of 190 km/h. Battery options include a 74 kWh pack providing up to 572 km of range and a 97.2 kWh pack offering up to 750 km. The AWD models deliver a slightly lower maximum range of 686 km. Charging is efficient, with 200 kW DC fast charging enabling a 20-80% charge in just 27 minutes. A home charger is included as standard, supporting the expected 90% of charging typically done at home or work. The new DS N°8 electric is set to launch mid-2025 with a starting price of €60,000. #dsautomobiles #dsn8 #coupesuv Thank you for watching to receive future car news updates please subscribe to our Channel, Good luck to everyone, and see you soon.
