Colombia's former president Alvaro Uribe has been sentenced to 12 years of house arrest in a case that has divided the nation. Uribe was convicted on Monday of bribery and witness tampering, in a case over his connections to right-wing paramilitary groups. The 73-year-old has denied any wrongdoing, and says he will appeal.
