Armed forces chief grilled on the UK's readiness for war by MPs

The Defence Committee will hear evidence from the Chief of the Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, in a session on his work as the UK's top military officer. This will be the Committee’s first opportunity to question Knighton in his role as the head of the Armed Forces. Knighton is also expected to face questions about recruitment and retention challenges. Speaking last month, he warned there was a growing risk Russia could attack the UK - and said the whole of the country would need to play its part.
