Former Conservative chair Baroness Warsi, the first Muslim in the cabinet, has said that the findings of an independent report showed that the Conservative Party is "institutionally racist". It comes after the review found that anti-Muslim sentiment "remains a problem" within the Conservative Party. Professor Swaran Singh, a former equality and human rights commissioner, analysed over 1400 complaints recorded by the Tories, and found that Boris Johnson's description of women wearing the burka looking like "letterboxes" - gave the impression the party is "insensitive to Muslim communities".
