Caring for your Olympic medal, explained

Years of hard training and sacrifice, participation in the Olympics and the lifelong dream that comes true with a medal: a symbol of glory that, unlike the achievement itself, can deteriorate over time. For this reason, the United States Olympic and Paralympic Museum decided to bring to Milan a medal care kit, making it available to any member of Team USA who has won a medal, past or present, so they can take care of their shining piece of history.
