Chinese tech company XPeng has unveiled the second generation of its humanoid robot, named IRON. The robot demonstrated smooth, human-like walking drawing strong reactions from the audience. According to the company the robot’s new capabilities are: a human-like spine, bionic muscles, soft synthetic skin and three self-developed Turing AI chips,. A design which could allow for autonomous decision-making. IRON will enter mass production in 2026, with deployment planned in service roles such as reception and showroom assistance.
