“Gita" was 19 when the Komiteh stopped her on the street. For eight years, Gita was jailed in Evin Prison, a place for Iran’s political prisoners, and notorious for abuse, fear and control. In September 2022, 22-year-old Kurdish Iranian Mahsa Amini died while in the custody of Iran's morality police.
