COVID-19: More disadvantaged children at risk of missing school since lockdown

Disadvantaged children are the least likely to return to school after lockdown, according to a new study. A report by the think tank Social Finance found that there was a 25% increase in persistently absent school children. Average attendance rates have improved since the coronavirus lockdown, but the enthusiasm of some to return to school masks a problem among poorer children.
