Donald Trump threatens to sue BBC for $1bn over Panorama documentary

Donald Trump has threatened to sue the BBC for $1bn unless the corporation apologises and compensates the US president for a Panorama documentary that misleadingly edited his 6 January Capitol Hill speech. Trump's lawyers also demanded the BBC withdraw the film. BBC News director-general Tim Davie, and BBC News CEO Deborah Turness both resigned on Sunday after it emerged Panorama had spliced together elements of the Trump speech.
