Donation changes aren't designed to harm Reform, says minister

The communities secretary has insisted that changes made today to political donations rules aren't designed to harm Reform UK. The government is temporarily banning donations made using cryptocurrency, and are capping donations made by Brits living abroad at £100,000. Asked by our deputy political editor Sam Coates whether these changes would harm Reform, Steve Reed said: "You can't have back channels through which the Kremlin can funnel millions or even billions of pounds to try and influence British elections."
