EU-Mercosur trade deal: More than two decades of negotiations come to an end

After two decades of negotiations, the European Union Commission is set to finalise a landmark trade deal between the EU and four South American countries. The Mercosur agreement would open up free trade between the bloc's 27 member states and Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. But French farmers have long opposed the deal.
