As Russia's president Putin hosts leaders of the BRICS group of nations, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin visited Ukraine on Monday and announced details of a 400 million dollar aid package for the embattled nation. This comes just two weeks before a US presidential election that could put further aid in doubt. During the visit, a Russian bombardment hit the eastern city of Pokrovsk, killing three people. Russian troops are slowly advancing toward the city, a key transportation hub that could open up further advances in the area. Our correspondent Max Zander visited the frontline city to talk to its defenders and see the devastation caused by Russia's advance. We also spoke with Frank Ledwidge, a military analyst and senior lecturer in War Studies at Portsmouth University in the UK. 00:00 Intro and report 04:35 Interview Max Zander, DW Correspondent 09:22 Interview, Frank Ledwidge, Military Analyst, Portsmouth University Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/deutschewelleenglish?sub_confirmation=1 For more news go to: http://www.dw.com/en/ Follow DW on social media: ►Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deutschewellenews/ ►Twitter: https://twitter.com/dwnews ►Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dwnews ►Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/dwnews_hangout Für Videos in deutscher Sprache besuchen Sie: https://www.youtube.com/dwdeutsch #ukrainerussianwar #pokrovsk #ukraine
