Can a healthy diet cure breast cancer? So, we don’t need chemotherapy or other cancer treatments anymore? Well, that’s at least what this former Indian cricketer claimed in a viral video: “If you don’t give sugar to cancer, if you don’t give carbohydrates to it, then it will die on its own....she was stage 4 cancer...she was back after 40 days.” But… is this actually true? I did some research and can tell you: This claim is false. And here’s why: ‘Parts of the video imply that starving the cancer by not eating dairy products and sugar, consuming haldi (turmeric) and neem helped cure her "incurable" cancer. These statements have no high-quality evidence to support them. While research is ongoing for some of these products, there is no clinical data currently to recommend their use as anti-cancer agents. And indeed: There’s no scientific evidence that raw turmeric, garlic, lemon, neem, and basil leaves can cure breast cancer. Leading oncologists also warn against the claim. “We urge the public to not delay their treatment by following unproven remedies...Cancer is curable if detected early.” Doctors advise anyone with cancer symptoms to seek immediate medical attention and warn against trusting “unscientific and baseless” social media remedies. And Sidhu himself also adds later in the video that his wife did not only rely on alternative healing methods: “She had already undergone surgery and had gone through chemotherapy.” Have you seen any dangerous claims about female health?
