Since it took effect last October, Israeli attacks have killed at least 448 Palestinians and injured over a thousand. Ahlam and Nasser Shamia's son Zaher was killed by Israeli forces in northern Gaza, where safety remains elusive for Palestinian families living near the so-called "yellow line".
