The pope has stressed the need to protect places of worship in the Palestinian territories and Israel. According to the Vatican, Leo the 14th made the demand in a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a day after a deadly Israeli strike on Gaza's only Catholic Church. Funerals for two of the three people killed in the attack were held late Thursday. At least 10 others, including a priest were wounded in the strike, which has drawn international condemnation. Israel says it never targets religious sites and released a statement, blaming stray ammunition. #gaza #israel #pope For more news go to: http://www.dw.com/en/ Follow DW on social media: ►Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dwnews ►TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@dwnews ►Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deutschewellenews/ ►Twitter: https://twitter.com/dwnews Für Videos in deutscher Sprache besuchen Sie: https://www.youtube.com/dwdeutsch Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/deutschewelleenglish?sub_confirmation=1
