There is growing international condemnation of Israel's attacks on UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon. In recent days, Israeli actions have injured several international soldiers in their bases. In one incident, the UN says an Israeli tank burst through the gates of a UNIFIL outpost. EU Foreign Policy chief Josep Borrell has described the attacks against the UN Interim Peacekeeping Force in Lebanon as "completely unacceptable." Earlier, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres said Israel's actions against UNIFIL may constitute war crimes. Meanwhile, Israel has called for the peacekeepers to withdraw from some posts near the border to get out of "harm's way," saying Hezbollah is trying to use the peacekeeping force as human shields.
