Iran's judiciary is claiming that Erfan Soltani has been arrested during protests but not sentenced to death, according to state media. The judiciary ‌says Soltani, currently held ​in the central penitentiary of Karaj, ‍is being charged with "colluding against the country's internal security and ‌propaganda activities against ⁠the regime". But it says the ‍death penalty does not apply to such charges if they are ​confirmed by a court. A human rights group previously warned that Soltani had been sentenced to death, with the US State Department, saying on its Farsi language X account, that he would be the first protester executed, but not the last. However, this week, Donald Trump repeatedly threatened Iran with action if it did go ahead and execute protesters. Yesterday, one of Soltani's family members told Sky News that he hadn't been executed after he was scheduled to be hung Wednesday.
