Hamid Ghanbari, Iran’s deputy foreign minister, says the timing of today’s US-Israeli strikes on Iran during a new round of nuclear talks is “deeply troubling”. Such timing “breaks trust and raises serious doubt about the commitment to a peaceful solution”, Ghanbari said in an interview with Al Jazeera. Ghanbari added that Iran has the right to defend itself and regrets any humanitarian loss caused by the current military escalation.
