Iran issues evacuation warnings for Gulf energy sites after Israeli strike on Bushehr

Iran's Revolutionary Guard has issued evacuation warnings for multiple oil and gas facilities across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, vowing retaliation after an Israeli strike hit a key gas processing plant in Iran's southern Bushehr province. The targeted facility processes gas from the South Pars field, which Iran shares with Qatar—known as the North Dome field on the Qatari side. Qatar's foreign ministry spokesman condemned Israel's attack as a "dangerous and irresponsible step," warning that targeting energy infrastructure threatens global security and the environment. The IRGC named specific sites including Saudi Arabia's Samref Refinery and Jubail Petrochemical Complex, the United Arab Emirates' Al Hosn Gas Field, and Qatar's Mesaieed Petrochemical Complex, Mesaieed Holding Company and Ras Laffan Refinery—urging civilians to evacuate. Al Jazeera correspondents Mohammad Vall in Tehran and Zein Basravi in Dubai reported that Iran has long warned Gulf states against allowing US forces to use their territory for attacks, and that any strikes on Iranian energy facilities would be met "in kind." Basravi noted that Gulf Arab foreign ministers are meeting urgently in Riyadh to coordinate a response, but warned that "the voice of reason" grows softer as the conflict escalates exponentially.
