Israel's Katz vows to ‘eliminate’ any new leader picked by Iran’s ‘terror regime’

As Iran works to pick a new Supreme Leader, Israel's defence minister says whoever is selected will be targeted for elimination. On Tuesday, an Israeli strike destroyed a building of the Assembly of Experts in the holy city of Qom. That's the clerical body tasked with appointing the next supreme leader. Israel Katz, the Israeli defence minister, posted on X saying: "Every leader appointed by the Iranian terror regime to continue and lead the plan to destroy Israel to threaten the United States and the free world and the countries of the region, and to suppress the Iranian people will be an unequivocal target for elimination.
