Israel's military kills prominent Al Jazeera journalist in Gaza | DW News

Qatari broadcaster Al Jazeera has confirmed that five of its journalists have been killed during an Israeli bombardment of Gaza City. One of the dead includes prominent journalist Anas Al-Sharif. The director of Gaza's Al Shifa hospital said Al-Sharif was killed along with the other journalists in a tent close to the hospital building. Israel's military alleged Al-Sharif had been the leader of a Hamas terrorist cell. The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OCHA) said almost 230 Palestinian journalists have been killed in Israeli strikes since October 7, 2023.
