Israeli airstrikes have targeted a critical bridge in southern Lebanon, raising fears of a wider escalation and possible ground invasion. The Qasmiyeh Bridge—a vital link connecting the south to the rest of the country—was struck multiple times, disrupting transportation and humanitarian access. Joseph Aoun condemned the attack, warning it could signal the beginning of a broader military offensive. Israel says the bridge was used by Hezbollah and needed to be destroyed to prevent attacks. Across southern Lebanon, airstrikes continue to hit infrastructure, including bridges and power facilities, while more than one million people have been displaced. The humanitarian situation is rapidly deteriorating as access to aid becomes increasingly difficult.
