Israel strikes Lebanon’s Beirut, saying it struck a Hezbollah target in Dahiyeh

The Israeli military has attacked the southern suburbs of Beirut, striking, it says, a Hezbollah operative in Dahiyeh. The attack on Sunday is the latest flagrant violation of the ceasefire Israel signed with Hezbollah one year ago to end hostilities that erupted into full-blown war. Israel has been carrying out near-daily strikes on southern Lebanon and has also attacked the capital Beirut several times.
