Shadow work and pensions secretary Mel Stride says that we have to "get growth and productivity up" as Labour have "talked the economy down". He says that Labour "boxed themselves in" during the election as the party that wouldn't raise taxes. But now, plans could be in place to increase capital gains tax. He goes on to say that the government also "concocted this fictitious black hole" left by the Conservative party.
