Liz Kendall: Assisted dying is a 'free vote' and the government doesn't have a position

Secretary of state for work and pensions, Liz Kendall says she will vote in favour of the assisted dying bill saying the safeguards are "much stronger" than when it was last voted for in 2015. Ms Kendall also defends health secretary Wes Streeting and justice secretary Shabana Mahmood for being strongly opposed to the bill, saying it needs to be discussed in a "compassionate way".
