A 6.1-magnitude earthquake has struck western Turkiye, hitting the town of Sindirgi at a depth of 10 kilometres. The tremor, which shook a community of more than 30,000 residents, caused the collapse of at least 10 buildings according to local officials, though no casualties have been reported. The quake's effects were felt as far away as Istanbul, some 340 kilometres to the north, where residents reported noticeable shaking.
