More Palestinians are now dying of hunger than in Israeli strikes. The Israeli blockade of Gaza has plunged the Strip into a severe malnutrition crisis. In the past 48 hours, the health ministry says more than 20 Palestinians have died of starvation. Doctor Deirdre Nunan, a Canadian orthopaedic surgeon who has volunteered several times in Gaza, tells Al Jazeera that the situation in the besieged enclave is “immeasurably worse” than when she was last there in April.
