Far-Right leader Marine Le Pen has been convicted of embezzlement of public funds when she was a Member of the European Parliament. Le Pen, the National Rally (RN) party, and two dozen party figures are accused of diverting over $3.3 million of European Parliament funds to pay France-based staff. The defendants say the money was used legitimately Le Pen could face jail, a fine and be barred from running for public office for five years. That would rule her out of the 2027 French election.
