The UK's data protection watchdog is launching an investigation into TikTok, Reddit, and Imgur over their use of teenagers' personal data. Concerns have been raised after a study found that some teenage TikTok users were being recommended videos on eating disorders and self-harm just minutes after signing up. TikTok maintains that it has robust safety features and strict content restrictions for young users. Among those advocating for stronger online protections is Esther Ghey, mother of murdered teenager Brianna Ghey.
