Mozambique’s electoral commission is tallying general election results following polls on Wednesday that rights groups say are rigged and political opposition say show signs of fraud. The ruling FRELIMO party denies it and is seeking to extend its 49-rule. The electoral commis-sion says it’s running free and fair polls. The next president will face an economy battered by worsening cyclones, gas extraction projects delayed by armed conflict, and high levels of debt.
