Volunteers are using mules to deliver food and supplies to isolated mountain communities in western North Carolina, where roads remain impassable due to Hurricane Helene's damage. Mountain Mule Packers, an organization specializing in mule transport, deployed a dozen mules to carry essential supplies to these hard-to-reach areas. Partnering with civilian groups like Cajun Navy 2016, the packers began deliveries on Monday, providing food, water, insulin and ice, according to the group’s Facebook page. https://www.voanews.com/a/long-water-power-outages-from-helene-test-patience-in-carolinas-georgia-/7807699.html » Subscribe to VOA News: https://bit.ly/3KIPysi » Watch more VOA News video: https://www.youtube.com/c/VOANews Voice of America (VOA) is the largest U.S. international broadcaster, providing news and information in more than 40 languages to an estimated weekly audience of 236.8 million people.
