Benjamin Netanyahu has paid tribute to Donald Trump and his efforts to secure peace between Israel and Hamas. Speaking to the Knesset - and in front of the US president - he told Israel's politicians Trump's name was "engraved" on Israeli history and submitted his nomination to be the first non-Israeli recipient of the Israel Prize - the country's highest award. Netanyahu also said he was committed to the peace process with Hamas, describing the 7 October attack as a "catastrophic mistake".
