President Trump approves sending more than 1,000 extra troops to the Middle East

The US is also still sending more than 1,000 extra troops - from an airborne assault unit - to the Middle East, despite Trump's talk of a possible peace. Iran's military has mocked claims by Donald Trump that talks are ongoing with Tehran aimed at ending the war. The dismissive statement asking if the US was negotiating with itself came after reports emerged that the US has put together a 15-point document to try and bring about an end to the war. Donald Trump also claimed Iran has agreed to "never" have a nuclear weapon, and told a White House event: "We can say this is regime change" and "we've won this war."
