At a joint press conference in Doha, the foreign ministers of Qatar and Turkiye condemned Iran's ongoing attacks on Gulf states, particularly yesterday's missile strike on Qatar's Ras Laffan energy complex, which caused damage but no casualties. Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani described the attacks as an "aggressive policy" targeting both military and civilian infrastructure over the past two weeks, stating that Iran's actions have shaken regional stability and eroded trust. He reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to diplomacy but stressed that any dialogue must be based on respect for sovereignty. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed solidarity with Qatar, declaring that attacks on civilians and energy facilities "cannot be accepted under any circumstances." He confirmed Turkiye participated in emergency talks in Riyadh and has been in contact with Iran, urging Tehran to stop escalating the conflict. Both ministers blamed Israel for triggering the wider war but insisted Iran's decision to attack neighbouring countries is unjustified. They called for an immediate ceasefire and renewed diplomatic efforts to prevent the region from sliding further into crisis.
