Qatar evacuates residents close to US embassy in Doha

The Qatar government has announced that it is evacuating residents who live in houses close to the US embassy in capital Doha. “In the framework of maintaining public safety, the Ministry of Interior announces that the relevant authorities are evacuating residents living in the vicinity of the US Embassy as a temporary precautionary measure,” Qatar’s Ministry of Interior said in a statement on X. “Suitable accommodation has been provided for them as part of necessary preventive measures.” Al Jazeera’s Aksel Zaimovic joins live from Doha.
