Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has insisted now is not the time to recognise a Palestinian state, after the prime minister announced the UK would take the step of recognising Palestinian statehood in September. Badenoch said she thinks Keir Starmer's decision is motivated by 'solving a problem on his own backbenches' rather than helping the people in Gaza.
