The British entrepreneur Richard Branson has successfully flown to the edge of space and back in his Virgin Galactic passenger rocket plane, days ahead of a rival launch by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. 'I was once a child with a dream looking up to the stars,' Branson said. 'Now, I’m an adult in a spaceship.' The rocket plane went into sub-orbital flight on Sunday morning, seventeen years after Branson founded Virgin Galactic to develop commercial spacecraft and cater to future space tourists Subscribe to Guardian News on YouTube ► http://bit.ly/guardianwiressub Richard Branson flies to edge of space in Virgin Galactic passenger rocket plane ► https://www.theguardian.com/science/2021/jul/11/richard-branson-virgin-galactic-space The Guardian publishes independent journalism, made possible by supporters.
