Turkish student Rumeysa Ozturk has thanked her supporters after being freed from a detention centre in the US state of Louisiana. The PhD student at Tufts University was arrested outside her home near Boston in March by US immigration officials. She spent six weeks in custody - over an opinion piece criticising her school's response to Israel's war on Gaza. She says during her detention, she received countless letters of support.
