Ukraine's defence industry is rapidly developing long-range weapons that rival Western capabilities. The country has unveiled its Neptune missile with a 1,000km range, surpassing the reach of Western-supplied arms. These domestically produced weapons, including advanced drones, are being used to strike economic targets deep inside Russia without the need for US approval. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has emphasised Ukraine's autonomy in using its own long-range weapons. The upcoming Flamingo FP-5 cruise missile, with a potential range of 3,000km, could significantly impact Russia's wartime economy, particularly its oil and gas exports. As Ukraine's defence sector matures, it is gaining the ability to strike a wider array of targets within Russian territory. Al Jazeera's Alex Gatopoulos reports.
