A Coast Guard helicopter crew rescued a man clinging to a cooler in the Gulf of Mexico after his boat was stranded in rough waters from Hurricane Milton. The man, whose fishing vessel was disabled off Madeira Beach, Florida, had radioed for help before losing contact. Searchers found him 48 kilometers off Longboat Key Thursday. A Coast Guard diver was lowered from the helicopter to rescue him. The man was taken to Tampa General Hospital. He is believed to have survived winds up to 145 kph and waves as high as 7.6 meters during his night on the water. https://www.voanews.com/a/powerful-hurricane-milton-hits-florida/7817200.html » Subscribe to VOA News: https://bit.ly/3KIPysi » Watch more VOA News video: https://www.youtube.com/c/VOANews Voice of America (VOA) is the largest U.S. international broadcaster, providing news and information in more than 40 languages to an estimated weekly audience of 236.8 million people.
