US Senate passes Trump’s ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’, sends it to House

The United States Senate has passed President Donald Trump's divisive tax and spending bill. Vice President JD Vance broke the 50-50 tie after a turbulent all-night session. The 940-page proposal has been met with strong criticism from the Democratic Party as well as some members of Trump’s Republican Party. A version of the bill passed in the House in May by a single vote, but lawmakers returning from recess to vote on the bill will have to reconcile the Senate version, which has seen numerous major changes from the original.
