The UN Security Council begins meeting on the situation in the Middle East. The meeting, called at the request of the US, will deal with Iran and the mass protests it has experienced over the last weeks. US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz said, “The level of violence that the Iranian regime has unleashed on its own people has repercussions for international peace and security.” “This is our message: President Donald J. Trump and the United States of America stand by the brave people of Iran,” he added, referring to those protesting against the regime.
