Thousands of homes across Gaza remain structurally unsafe despite still standing after the war. With reconstruction stalled and shelters overcrowded, Palestinian families have little choice but to live in buildings with cracked walls, weakened columns and unstable ceilings. Civil engineers are conducting basic safety assessments and installing makeshift supports using improvised materials, attempting to make parts of homes temporarily habitable. Building materials remain blocked from entering the Strip, leaving residents to navigate fragmented living spaces divided between usable rooms and areas too dangerous to occupy.
