Israel has confirmed the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt has officially re-opened for the first time in almost two years. The crossing used to be run by the Egyptians but the Israelis seized control in May of 2024 and continue to occupy the area. Authorities are calling this opening a "pilot-run" with the hope of letting people cross the border soon.
