An open letter to the United Nations, with signatories including the former head of the UN climate body (UNFCCC) says 'the structure of future COPs needs to change'. It called for the process to be streamlined and for countries to be held accountable for their promises. The letter's 22 signatories also include former President of Ireland Mary Robinson and Christiana Figueres, former head of the UN climate body (UNFCCC) that runs the annual COP summits.
