On the first day back from summer recess, John Healey MP rises to his feet to make a statement on Ukraine. The defence secretary will address efforts to bring Russian President Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table, following President Donald Trump's summit with him in Alaska a few weeks ago. Keir Starmer also took 24-hours out of his Scottish summer holiday to fly to Washington D.C. to escort Ukrainian President Zelenskyy to the White House, along with other European leaders, last month as well.
