Israeli strikes have hit water facilities, fuel depots and oil refineries across Iran, marking a possible shift in target selection during the ongoing conflict. Al Jazeera correspondent Tohid Asadi, reporting from Tehran, said the attacks have created unprecedented environmental conditions in the capital, with thick black smoke covering the city even in the morning. He described toxic air and “black rain” caused by fires at fuel sites and refineries around Tehran. Asadi said the strikes have intensified in recent days, with concerns growing over civilian casualties, previously reported at about 1,300. Iranian officials say the country continues to retaliate and there is no sign of de-escalation. Early on Saturday, Masoud Pezeshkian apologised to regional countries for earlier attacks, vowing not to target them again—unless strikes continue from US bases on their soil. However, Iran's military warns it is prepared for a long war of attrition, reserving the right to retaliate against any launch sites.
