Rafah crossing reopens, but why are Gaza patients still dying waiting?

A week after Israel reopened the Rafah crossing, only 37 patients have been evacuated from Gaza, far below the pledged 50 per day for life-saving treatment. Fewer than 100 Palestinians have been allowed to return, enduring journeys of up to 20 hours, often blindfolded, handcuffed and interrogated, with belongings confiscated. Israel has also failed to meet commitments on aid deliveries, allowing only a fraction of the promised 608 trucks daily. Health authorities say 10 of the 20,000 patients awaiting evacuation die each day as violations of the US-brokered ceasefire continue. Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh explains.
