Russia has launched a "massive attack" on Ukraine's two largest cities - Professor Michael Clarke analyses the timing of the Russian strikes. He said, "the Russians have done this all the time - they always strike either just before or just after talks and in a way the strikes are designed to show the Ukrainians they must give in". "They are designed to show the United States, the White House, that they are somehow unstoppable - these strikes are not random, the Russian's think about what they are about to do," he added. #skynews #russia #ukraine #michaelclarke #worldnews #unitedstates Live updates: https://news.sky.com/story/ukraine-war-latest-russia-joining-direct-peace-talks-with-ukraine-and-us-for-first-time-today-but-bombing-continues-12541713 SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube channel for more videos: http://www.youtube.com/skynews Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/skynews Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/skynews Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/skynews Follow us on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@skynews For more content go to http://news.sky.com and download our apps: Apple https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/sky-news/id316391924?mt=8 Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bskyb.skynews.android&hl=en_GB Sky News Daily podcast is available for free here: https://podfollow.com/skynewsdaily/ To enquire about licensing Sky News content, you can find more information here: https://news.sky.com/info/library-sales
