Donald Trump's administration will be allowed to take steps to implement its proposal to end automatic birthright citizenship in the US following a decision by the Supreme Court. The US president welcomed the ruling by posting on Truth Social that it was a "giant win". Although legal challenges can continue as the ruling only focuses on whether judges had the authority to put the policy on hold across the entire country.
